GEO and AEO: get described correctly in AI answers
Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) are how we keep ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, and Google AI Overviews from skipping you — or inventing the wrong city and services. Delivered by SYS CRED from Prince George, BC.
What GEO and AEO mean in practice
SEO is about search listings. GEO/AEO is about what AI tools and answer boxes say when someone asks who to hire.
Buyers still use Google. Many also ask ChatGPT for a shortlist, skim Perplexity with citations, or read a Google AI Overview before they click. Those systems need a clear fact set: who you are, what you sell, where you work, and how to contact you. If that set is missing or inconsistent, the tool skips you, names a competitor, or invents details.
GEO is the work of making those facts consistent and easy to extract — on your site, in schema, and on the profiles that get crawled. AEO is the older version of the same idea for snippets, People Also Ask, and AI Overviews: answer the question in the first sentence, then expand.
We run them as one engagement because the deliverables overlap: FAQs, Organization/LocalBusiness schema, NAP cleanup, and service pages that open with a plain definition. SYS CRED (Bhupindersingh Technologies Ltd.) is based in Prince George, BC and delivers this remotely across Canada.
What usually goes wrong
AI never names you
Competitors have a one-sentence description, FAQs, and matching Google profile. Your homepage is mostly brand language.
AI names you — incorrectly
Wrong city, outdated phone, or services you stopped offering. That damages trust more than silence.
Conflicting public facts
Legal name, brand spelling, city, and email differ between the site, Google Business Profile, and directories.
No machine-readable entity
Missing or contradictory Organization / LocalBusiness / FAQ schema, or schema that does not match visible text.
Pages that never state the answer
Long marketing copy without a clear first sentence models (or people) can quote.
SEO and AI stories diverge
Search copy says one thing; chat tools say another. Buyers notice before they call.
What we actually do
We do not sell “guaranteed ChatGPT mentions,” prompt spam, or fake citations. Models change. What we can control is removing the reasons you are skipped or misdescribed.
Because we also build sites and run SEO, we can implement page and schema changes instead of handing you a spreadsheet your developer never gets to.

Engines we check
ChatGPT — common for B2B shortlists. Needs a consistent entity; may or may not browse live pages.
Perplexity — citation-heavy. Favours pages that answer the question in the open with specifics.
Google AI Overviews — sits on top of search you already care about. Same answer-first patterns as classic AEO.
Gemini, Claude, Copilot — show up in research and workplace drafting. Same requirement: clean, repeated facts.
Typical engagement
01
Audit
Ask the main tools how they describe you. Compare site, schema, footer, and Google profile. List mismatches.
02
Fact card
Lock the official wording. Update About, footer, schema, and profile to match.
03
Publish
Ship FAQs and answer-first service (or city) pages that were missing.
04
Recheck
Rerun the same prompts. Note what moved and what still needs crawl time or more proof.
Wrong city or phone can clear after sources update and get recrawled. Competitive “who should I hire” prompts may take longer — or may never be universal. We show you the before/after prompts so expectations stay honest.
Ongoing work is light: quarterly prompt checks, a fact audit after any rebrand, and new FAQs when sales hears a new question.
GEO and SEO together
If the site is slow, blocked, or missing service URLs, fix that with SEO first or in parallel. GEO on an uncrawlable site does nothing useful.
If rankings are already fine and the only problem is AI silence or AI errors, we can scope GEO-heavy work: entity card, FAQs, schema, prompt checks.
Who this is for
Canadian service businesses, clinics, trades, and B2B firms whose buyers research in chat tools or AI Overviews. Interior BC and smaller-city firms often lose “best in BC” answers to Vancouver/Calgary brands that published clearer pages — stating your real city and services is how you enter those answers.
Remote national firms should publish the real HQ and service model. Fake multi-city offices help neither Maps nor AI.
Frequently asked questions
Can you guarantee ChatGPT will recommend us?
No. We can remove the usual failure modes (bad facts, no FAQs, no schema, no city). We cannot control model behaviour or competitor publishing.
Do we need a blog first?
Usually not. Priority is About, service pages, FAQs, and schema. Add articles when they answer questions people actually ask.
Is schema enough by itself?
No. Schema must match visible text. Visible text must be consistent across the site and profile.
What do you need from us to start?
